Final Thoughts

The million-dollar question here is, what is Delta’s Status worth to you, especially in light of the recent devaluation where Delta made its program so unattractive that it had to backtrack due to the backlash it received?

Delta One has some incredible offerings when it gets it right

Assuming you aim to hit the top of the challenge and receive the Delta Platinum Medallion, is it worth it? While if you do not have status with another airline, Delta Platinum is something to aspire to, in many other instances, it is not as good as some of the ones you would be matching from. For instance, why a United Global Services member or AA Concierge Key member (these are the super elite invite-only tiers) would want Delta Platinum is Beyond us. It simply is not that appealing.

That said, knowing that you can leverage your current status with a competitor for status with Delta is always handy to know and can be very useful in a pinch if you need to change your loyalty rapidly and don’t want to be traveling without status.
