Air Canada’s New Signature Class Amenity Kit 2024

2024-02-22

Air Canada has released a new version of its Acqua Di Parma amenity kit in 2024. The contents are exactly the same as the previous amenity kit; the new case design is radically different and far more useful than the last edition - it fits effectively into luggage. I’ve adopted the amenity kit case for my travel toiletries.

On a recent Air Canada Signature Class B777-300ER flight from Toronto Canada to Tokyo Japan, I noticed that Air Canada has released a new version of its Acqua Di Parma amenity kit in 2024.

While the contents are exactly the same as the previous amenity kit, the new case design is radically different – and in my opinion far cooler and more useful than the last edition.

The bag is stylish and seems durable. But most importantly – it’s sized in a square profile section that’s extremely functional for contents, and fits really well into luggage due to it’s shape and size. This amenity kit has superseded my previous Air France amenity kit as the one I’ll be using for my traveling toiletries for the foreseeable future, or at least until I see something better this year.

Air Canada’s Old 2023 Acqua Di Parma Amenity Kit

The previous Air Canada amenity kit was also by Acqua Di Parma, but was in a standard rectangular format and thin shape that you might find for most airline amenity kits. I first saw this on my Air Canada B787 flight from São Paulo to Montreal.

You’ll find the amenity kit waiting for you at your seat, along with a bottle of water. On my last Air Canada flight of 2023 from Montreal Canada to Casablanca, Morocco, I found the amenity kit waiting at the tray table along with a bottle of water.

The amenity kit came with a black matte Acqua Di Parma paper wrapper, and has a had a shiny light-yellow checkered fabric texture along with an orange-yellow band along the edge, a band for hanging the amenity kit as well as a small leather zipper tag.

Moving the black wrapper off to the side, you’ll find “Acqua Di Parma” branded in large black capital letters.

The inside of the amenity kit is a bright yellow orange similar to the banding color, and it’s also branded exclusively for Air Canada and Acqua Di Parma.

Unfortunately there’s only a small zipper opening at the very top that doesn’t curve around the corner of the amenity kit, and this prevented the amenity kit from being useful for keeping after travel, in my opinion.

One of the big issues with this amenity kit is the sizing of the zipper opening along the top of the amenity kit – the zippers do not open along the sides, and so the opening part itself is limited.

This made it extra extremely difficult to get some objects in and out of the amenity kit, and thus not particularly useful beyond what is provided on the flight itself. I ended up not using this after my flights.

Amenity Kit Contents:

  • Eye Mask – oversized and extra large. Very comfortable.
  • Socks – black, very large.
  • Microfibre Glasses cleaner – how useful!!
  • Earplugs
  • Dental Kit with Toothbrush and Toothpaste
  • Hand cream and Lip Balm (boxed)

Air Canada has one of the strongest amenity kit contents I’ve seen. All items are incredibly useful, and in fact the most used item from this amenity kit has been the small microfibre glasses cleaner. I’ve used this more often than all the other items combined.

Air Canada’s New 2024 Acqua Di Parma Amenity Kit

With the new amenity kit design, Air Canada has upgraded to an entirely new amenity kit design and shape. The new amenity kit has a rectangular profile, equal on all sides, and a square cross-section. The material has changed from fabric to a faux-leather.

The Air Canada amenity kit is usually found on top of the side table prior to departure. There’s once again a black paper band that unveils the Acqua Di Parma logo on the amenity kit – except this time the branding is engraved into the leather.

Once again, the amenity kit is branded exclusively for Air Canada and includes that as well as the Acqua Di Parma brand label. This new amenity kit pouch is designed in Australia, and made in China.

This new design is radically different from other airline amenity kits I’ve seen, but in a way that’s incredibly functional and allows you to place all kinds of things inside it. This design is extra functional, fits perfectly into my suitcase in a really symmetrical way with clothes and contents, and also has tons of room inside for all kinds of toiletries.

Also unlike the previous design, the zippers extend partly around the sides of the bag, allowing you to open it extra wide.

There’s room for my beard clippers, which tend to be one of the tend to be the largest item I usually place into my amenity kit.

As a result I’ve actually made this newly launched amenity kit as new primary traveling toiletries bag for 2024, and will be using this extensively for traveling this year. What’s really cool is that the contents are still the same as before and I’ve always found that Air Canada offers one of the most functional and unique amenity kits available in the air today.

New Amenity Kit Contents:

  • Eye Mask – oversized and extra large. Very comfortable.
  • Socks – black, very large.
  • Microfibre Glasses cleaner – how useful!!
  • Earplugs
  • Dental Kit with Toothbrush and Toothpaste, Mouthwash and Floss Pick.
  • Hand cream and Lip Balm (boxed)

The dental kit is wrapped, and upon opening it includes a toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash and a small floss pick.

As I already mentioned, the contents of the new amenity kit have not changed – they’re exactly the same as in the previous amenity kit. The microfibre glasses cleaner is something I used daily during my follow-up three week trip in Japan.

Final Thoughts

The new Air Canada 2024 signature class amenity kit is a huge upgrade over the previous design, and honestly is one of my favorite amenity kit releases that I’ve seen to date.

The bag is stylish and seems durable. But most importantly, it’s sized in a square profile section that’s extremely functional for contents. The amenity kit fits really well into luggage due to this shape and size. This amenity kit has superseded my previous Air France amenity kit as the one I’ll be using for my traveling toiletries for the foreseeable future, or at least until I see something better this year.
